By serving regular routes and schedules, ferries are particularly well suited to testing and perfecting clean and efficient technologies. Now we want to showcase our members´ advancements, and demonstrate this leadership to the world,“ says Mike Corrigan, CEO of Interferry.
Therefore, Interferry is calling on operator members to submit their most impressive technical and operational sustainability projects. We’re looking for initiatives that demonstrate real-world solutions, like:
- Sustainable ship construction and interiors
- Environmentally conscious shoreside projects and practices
- Retrofits for fuel efficiency upgrades
- Alternative fuel conversions (Hydrogen, Methanol, Biofuels, etc.)
- Shore power integration
- Operational efficiency improvements (route optimization, waste reduction, application of AI tools etc.)
Joint submissions from operators and their suppliers highlighting successful partnerships are especially encouraged, as long as they are not commercial in nature and the presentation’s focus is on educating and enlightening. This collaborative approach will further strengthen our industry’s commitment to a sustainable future.
