Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) is proud to announce that the city of Québec has been selected to host the 52nd Annual Interferry Conference, which will take place at the Québec City Convention Centre in October 2028. This prestigious event will bring together leading figures from the global ferry transport industry for strategic discussions, specialized workshops, and high-level networking opportunities.
“It is an honor for STQ to host Interferry2028 in the National Capital,” said Greta Bedard, President and CEO of STQ. “Québec is an iconic port city, rich in maritime history and recognized for its expertise. We look forward to showcasing our know-how and to contributing to discussions shaping the future of the industry.”
Bernard Drainville, Minister responsible for the Maritime Strategy, welcomed the announcement: “Québec plays a strategic role in maritime transportation, and hosting Interferry2028 in Québec City is a testament to our leadership in this field. This conference will strengthen ties among global stakeholders and advance sustainable solutions for the future of our ferries and coastal communities.”
The event will be held at the Québec City Convention Centre, a venue renowned for its hospitality and world-class facilities. Caroline Lepage, President and CEO of the Centre, expressed her enthusiasm: “Hosting Interferry2028 is a tremendous opportunity to highlight Québec’s maritime expertise and position the Convention Centre as an international hub for exchange and innovation. We are delighted to collaborate with STQ and Interferry to offer participants a memorable experience in the heart of the capital.”

Each year, Interferry brings together industry leaders at its annual conference to promote knowledge sharing, networking, and global collaboration. Following Marrakech (2024), Sorrento (2025), Bangkok (2026 – 50th edition), and Mariehamn (2027), Québec City will host the 2028 edition, showcasing the essential role of ferries in sustainable mobility.
